La analgesia acupuntural en cirugía periodontal

Abstract

Se realizó un ensayo clínico-terapéutico fase II temprana (estudio experimental) con el objetivo determinar la eficacia de la analgesia acupuntural en los tratamientos quirúrgicos periodontales: alisado radicular, técnica excisional para la nueva inserción (ENAP) y colgajo Kirkland sin incisión vertical. Fueron estudiados 32 pacientes de ambos sexos que dependieron de las técnicas quirúrgicas periodontales mencionadas y cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión del estudio, a todos se les aplicó analgesia acupuntural. El resultado del tratamiento se evaluó clínicamente de acuerdo a los parámetros establecidos en la escala utilizada. Se determinó la eficacia de la técnica acupuntural por el predominio de las respuestas satisfactorias a este procedimiento que tuvo el mayor valor en el alisado radicular. Se identificaron complicaciones, pero fueron mínimas, el sangramiento en el sitio de la punción fue la más frecuente.
