Artropatía neuropática de la rodilla: una infrecuente enfermedad. Reporte de un caso

Abstract

Se describe un caso de artropatía neuropática de Charcot en el curso de una diabetes mellitus tipo 1 con mal control metabólico de aproximadamente 15 años de evolución, enfermedad muy rara en nuestro medio, pero más infrecuente aún con localización en la articulación de la rodilla en un paciente de 40 años de edad. Se revisan la causa, patogenia, clínica, diagnóstico de la entidad y su diagnóstico diferencial, así como el tratamiento. Se concluye que la neuroartropatía de Charcot es una enfermedad con gran dificultad diagnóstica por lo que ante la presencia de inflamación y edema del pie o una articulación en un paciente diabético con neuropatía sensitiva-motora en extremidades inferiores se debe pensar en esta enfermedad.
