Tratamiento homeopático vs Alvogyl en la alveolitis dental

Abstract

Fundamento: el remedio homeopático ha sido empleado en la Estomatología para el tratamiento de diferentes afecciones, entre ellas, la alveolitis dental. Objetivo: comparar la eficacia del tratamiento homeopático y el Alvogyl en la alveolitis dental. Método: se realizó un ensayo clínico fase II tardío, unicéntrico, abierto y secuencial en la clínica estomatológica Ignacio Agramonte, desde noviembre de 2005 a mayo de 2007. La muestra quedó conformada por 134 pacientes divididos en grupo estudio (tratado con homeopatía) y control (tratado con Alvogyl), los que a su vez se dividieron en dos subgrupos (I y II) según su gravedad. Se indicó antibióticos en ambos subgrupos II, para evitar mayores complicaciones. El resultado del tratamiento se determinó clínicamente a las 24, 48 y 72 horas según una escala establecida por el autor, donde se consideraron las variables inflamación y dolor. Resultados: los resultados más significativos se obtuvieron a las 48 horas en los subgrupos menos graves (I). En los más graves se necesitó más de 72 horas para la remisión total de los signos y síntomas. Existió una eficacia discretamente mayor para el tratamiento con Avogyl. Conclusiones: la mayoría de los pacientes manifestaron su satisfacción con el tratamiento recibido. Las agravaciones homeopáticas identificadas fueron mínimas. No se encontraron reacciones adversas al Alvogyl.
