Factores relacionados con la no adherencia al tratamiento antihipertensivo

Abstract

Fundamento: la hipertensión arterial constituye uno de los grandes retos de la medicina moderna por su extraordinaria prevalencia. Objetivo: identificar algunos factores relacionados con la no adherencia al tratamiento antihipertensivo. Método: se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en pacientes de los consultorios del médico de la familia 25, 26 y 67 del policlínico Tula Aguilera, de la ciudad de Camagüey entre enero y julio de 2007. El universo estuvo representado por el total de pacientes que no cumplieron o cumplieron parcialmente el tratamiento médico antihipertensivo de acuerdo con las orientaciones médicas (230); identificados durante las acciones de salud del Equipo Básico de Salud. Resultados: se encontró que el sexo masculino adhirió menos (71, 73 %) que el femenino con (28, 27 %), que a mayor escolaridad menor adherencia (66, 95 %), al igual que la soledad con (63, 91 %), los pacientes no adherentes presentaron más complicaciones, la terapia combinada (60 %) dificultó la adherencia y la subvaloración de la enfermedad (63, 04 %) fue el factor psicológico más determinante de la no adherencia. Conclusiones: se logró demostrar que factores como el sexo masculino, la escolaridad, la soledad, las terapias combinadas, la subvaloración de la enfermedad indujeron a la no adherencia del tratamiento antihipertensivo.
