Morbimortalidad por emergencias cardiovasculares en hemodiálisis

Abstract

Fundamento: la prevalencia de las enfermedades no trasmisibles ha ido en ascenso a causa de los cambios en los estilos de vida y al envejecimiento de la población. El riesgo de muerte aumenta a medida que la tasa de filtración glomerular disminuye.
Objetivo: conocer el comportamiento de la morbimortalidad cardiovascular ya que constituye la primera causa de muerte en los pacientes en hemodiálisis.
Método: se realizó un estudio descriptivo con 453 pacientes con Insuficiencia Renal Crónica Terminal en Métodos Depuradores en el Servicio de Nefrología del Hospital Provincial Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey en el período comprendido del 1ro de enero 2004 al 31 de diciembre del 2007.
Resultados: la recolección de los datos se realizó a través de las historias clínicas. Predominó el sexo masculino con 236 pacientes para un 52,10%.
Conclusiones: predominaron los pacientes masculinos, la causa más frecuente de insuficiencia renal fue la Nefropatía Diabética y la Hipertensión arterial el factor de riesgo cardiovascular predominante.
