Retinopatía de la prematuridad: estudio en la provincia de Camagüey

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio transversal descriptivo a 55 niños pesquisados menores de 32 semanas de edad gestacional y de menos de 1700g de peso al nacer en el año 2003 en el Hospital Materno Ana Betancourt de Camagüey, con el objetivo de estudiar la tasa de mortalidad neonatal, el índice de bajo peso, nacidos vivos menores de 1500g, índice de mortalidad infantil, fallecidos en el período antes mencionado. Se estudió la relación entre la edad gestacional de la mamá, el peso del niño, los factores de riesgo asociados, así como los diferentes estadios de retinopatía de la prematuridad que padecieron los prematuros. Se plasmó la conducta a seguir en los niños tratados.
