Información sobre hábitos bucales deformantes en trabajadoras de círculos infantiles

Abstract

RESUMEN

Fundamento: numerosas son las causas que pueden originar alteraciones o acelerar las posiciones incorrectas de los dientes y sus relaciones inadecuadas con los maxilares.
Objetivo: determinar el nivel de información sobre hábitos bucales deformantes.
Método: se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal, en educadoras y auxiliares pedagógicas de círculos infantiles del Distrito Ignacio Agramonte desde enero de 2007 hasta mayo de 2008. El universo estuvo constituido por noventa educadoras y auxiliares pedagógicas y la muestra se conformó por setenta y tres trabajadoras. El nivel de información se determinó a través de una entrevista estructurada.
Resultados: el 42.5% de la muestra se encontró poco informada. El 83.6% de la muestra estuvo motivado por el tema y en la realización del grupo focal muchas sugirieron que se les impartiera un curso de capacitación sobre hábitos bucales deformantes.
Conclusiones: el nivel de información que predominó fue el de poco informado y dentro de esta categoría las educadoras resultaron ser las menos informadas, más de la mitad de la muestra manifestaron estar motivadas y conocer sobre el tema en estudio y pidieron que se les impartieran cursos de capacitación.
