Methodological procedure aimed at the specialization of the Family Doctor
Abstract
Introduction: The Specialization of Family Medicine, as a training process, requires a tool from a methodological point of view that enables its organization in content and skills in order to contribute to the development of the resident and their professional and personal growth to successfully fulfill their social mission in the different development scenarios within Primary Health Care, which is currently lacking.
Objective: To determine the actions, tasks, and methodological guidelines corresponding to the methodological approach that allows for the integration of the content and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care to communities based on a multidisciplinary and intersectoral approach.
Methods: The following methods were used: inductive-deductive, documentary analysis, and modeling.
Results: The evidence points to the importance of the methodological procedure within the specialization process in family medicine as an organizational instrument to acquire the necessary elements to provide beneficial care at the primary health level. This is achieved through the establishment of interrelated actions, tasks, and methodological orientations. This allows the establishment of the necessary guidelines to fulfill the training process and enables its generalization to other specialties due to its flexible nature, which allows for contextualization according to the objectives pursued.
Conclusions: The development of the actions and tasks contained in the methodological procedure enabled the organization of the educational process in the Family Medicine specialization, allowing students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for adequately addressing the community's health issues.
