Delphi method and Kendall's coefficient of concordance to validate a theoretical conception
Abstract
Introduction: The theoretical conception of stratification during the health control medical examination in military army hospital is a system of ideas that conceptually and procedurally express the development of the process. This scientific result led to two important achievements: a procedure and the sequence of activities for its implementation in practice.
Objective: To describe the procedures to validate the internal results of the theoretical conception of stratification during the health control medical examination in a military army hospital.
Methods: A qualitative and applied research in Health Systems and Services was conducted in the Holguin Military Hospital from 2022 to 2024. To model the procedure and the sequence of activities, multiple bibliometric and infometric sources were consulted, and qualitative and quantitative techniques were combined, with the former predominating. The following categories were taken into account for the procedure: registration, evaluation, intervention, monitoring, and assurance. The sequence of activities includes some inherent to the National Program for the control of non-communicable diseases in Cuba, contextualized to the military environment. The assessment of the theoretical conception of stratification during the health control medical examination in the military army hospital was carried out using the criteria of relevance, usefulness, and viability for each of its components. The validation was carried out by 18 experts with a high competence coefficient.
Results: The proposal was made up of five categories for the procedure and 21 activities. Kendall's W coefficient allowed us to affirm that there is consensus among experts on the usefulness and viability.
Conclusions: The procedure and sequence of activities for the stratification during the health control medical examination in the military army hospital were very useful and very viable.
