Tratamiento quirúrgico de estenosis traqueal baja: presentación de 2 casos.

Abstract

RESUMEN

Introducción: las lesiones estenóticas traqueales secundarias a intubación son una complicación común. En Cuba, la primera resección por estenosis isquémica de este órgano se efectuó en el 1974.
Objetivo: describir los complejos procedimientos quirúrgicos realizados en dos pacientes con esta afección y sus resultados.
Casos clínicos: se presenta el caso de dos pacientes femeninas, con estenosis traqueal severa, fueron operadas en el Hospital Militar Universitario Dr. Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja de Camagüey en el período de Diciembre de 2009 a abril de 2011. La causa de la ventilación prolongada en uno de los casos fue un status asmático y en el otro una cirugía abdominal de urgencia por un síndrome peritoneal perforativo, con postoperatorio complicado.
Conclusiones: la resección traqueal circunferencial fue la técnica realizada en ambos casos. La aplicación de esta técnica mostró resultados finales satisfactorios en ambos casos sin mortalidad atribuible a la intervención. Se consideró importante el cultivo y antibiograma de las secreciones endotraqueales en el preoperatorio.
