Process management skills for budget execution in the Health Services Management Office
Abstract
Introduction: The Health Services Management Office seeks to improve service quality and accessibility by optimizing organizational processes and ensuring the correct allocation of resources. The study addresses the application of a process management model in this context.
Objective: To determine the relationship between process management, favorable results in budget execution at the Alto Mayo Health Services Management Office and the impact on public health during 2023.
Methods: Applied research was conducted with a non-experimental design and a mixed approach, using surveys and documentary review in data collection. 55 workers from the Alto Mayo Health Services Management Office participated. For data analysis, descriptive statistics were used for the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies and inferential statistics.
Results: A significant lack of knowledge about products and processes was evident with incorrect answers in 78.18% of the study participants. However, the implementation of the proposed model showed validity to improve budget execution.
Conclusions: The integration of process management with budget management is a crucial step to improve the efficiency of public entities. The implementation of a process management model to improve budget execution is valid, according to experts, and will contribute to an efficient and timely use of public spending. This model could be adopted by other similar institutions involved in public health management.
