Academic management for military training and health of militarized students
Abstract
Introduction: Progressive work activity, aligned with the academic training and health of students in militarized institutions, is key to a successful transition to the professional environment. Organizational and academic management must implement programs focused on stress prevention and health care.
Objective: To know the opinions of parent representatives on the organizational management of militarized institutions and of students on academic management for work activities and student health in militarized institutions.
Methods: A qualitative research was carried out in June 2024, where opinions were collected from parent representatives on the organizational management of militarized institutions, and from graduates on academic management for military training and health of students in militarized institutions.
Results: The opinions of parent representatives on organizational management in militarized institutions focused around rest routines, promotion of nutritious food, and ensuring an organizational climate favorable to health. The graduates highlighted the need for more flexible academic management that takes into account the emotional health of students. They suggested incorporating hybrid educational models and giving more space for rest and personal reflection, in order to avoid physical and mental exhaustion.
Conclusions: Both parents and graduates agree that, although militarized institutions are effective in discipline and efficiency, they must improve attention to the students' mental and emotional health to ensure their academic and professional success.
DeCS: ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT; ACADEMIC MANAGEMENT; HEALTH; MILITARIZED STUDENTS.
