Characterization of the ability to prepare the certificate of first intention assistance the one injured person
Abstract
Introduction: In Cuba, the teaching of the Legal Medicine began in the 18th century. One year before it began in Spain and six years after its official creation in Brazil, the honor goes to the Spanish professor, Dr. José de Lletor y Castro Verde, who, on November 24, 1838, at the Royal College of San Carlos and San Ambrosio in Havana, taught the first course in Legal Medicine and Medical Jurisprudence. The quality of general practitioner training is a global issue for public satisfaction with health services. It is neither complete nor adequate if the physician lacks the medical and legal knowledge necessary to satisfactorily provide health services. One of these issues is the preparation of the primary care certificate for injured patients.
Objective: To elaborate a system of didactic procedures for the process of teaching-learning of the Legal Medicine in the Medicine Degree.
Methods: A pedagogic investigation was carried out with longitudinal, explanatory cuanti-qualitative focus, not experimental, derived of the formation of the Master in Medical Education. The study was developed in three stages: factoperceptible, of theoretical construction, and of application, using methods of the theoretical, empiric and statistical level.
Results: As for evaluating the level of development of the functional structure of the ability to make the certificate of attendance of first aid to the injured, the observation was directed to the students of 5th year of the medicine degree in the education in the work and it was appreciated that 83 % of the student body presents inadequacies.
Conclusions: The Legal Medicine and Medical Ethics subject has the highly integrative paper between other disciplines of the study plan and other ciencies, constituting a systematizing element and one of interdisciplinary.
