Peer Evaluation Process

Medico Archive Magazine welcomes Camagüey unified requirements for biomedical journals International Committee of Medical Journal Editors 5 ta edition, 1997 (New Engl J Med 1997; 336 (4): 309-315).

All rigorous research implies an impartial, independent and critical evaluation process, intrinsic to the process. All articles will be subjected to a double blind peer review peer review system . The acceptance response time from shipment will be 48 hours. The authors must receive a verdict on the destination of their contribution, keeping a copy of the materials introduced into the system to reinsert the corrected version after the arbitration if necessary.

The time average of processing of the manuscripts should be as maximum of up to 3 ( three ) months, considering the time between the dates of submission and the decision end in regard to the publication, and of up to 6 ( six ) months, considering the time between the dates of submission and publication of the manuscript.

The final decision belongs exclusively to the editorial committee and in case of controversy the article will be sent to a third national or international reviewer with a higher scientific level in the specialty whose criteria will define the acceptance or not of the article.

Expert review helps the director decide which articles are most appropriate for publication in AMC, while helping authors and the director improve the quality of published work. The initial review is carried out by the Director; To decide its step to the editorial process, then the works are assigned to the different reviewers, who through the system carry out the review, being able to add any other element that contributes to improve the quality of the article.

The review system of the Journal (AMC) requires independent and blind evaluation by the two reviewers, which at least uses the journal in its process of valuation of the contributions presented for publication.

During the arbitration process, special care will be maintained with the established ethical norms, avoiding conflicts of interest. It is totally forbidden to use the knowledge acquired by the reviewers, during the evaluation of work with personal interest, before its publication; as well as the public disclosure of the results of the investigation. The materials subject to arbitration cannot be reproduced or commented with any person, without the consent of the editor of the journal. The names of the referees who review each particular work will not be revealed, although as a form of stimulus they can be revealed collectively. The Editorial Committee of the magazine reserves the right to reject articles, which it does not deem appropriate for publication. Once each issue has been published, the authors cannot suggest changes in the original version.
