Fracaso renal agudo en el paciente quirúrgico ingresado en la unidad de cuidados intensivos

Abstract

Con el objetivo de conocer el comportamiento de la insuficiencia renal aguda, la letalidad, el tipo de cirugía recibida y las causas de muerte en los pacientes quirúrgicos, se realizó un estudio descriptivo a 40 pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Provincial Manuel Ascunce Domenech, desde el 1 de enero al 31 de diciembre de 2002 ya que presentaron la afección después de recibir tratamiento quirúrgico. Se realizó determinación diaria de creatinina sérica y medición de la diuresis horaria. El 16, 2 % de los pacientes se complicó con insuficiencia renal aguda, el grupo de edades de mayores de 65 años fue el más afectado, se presentó con mayor frecuencia después de la cirugía abdominal, en el sexo masculino el 80 % conservó el volumen urinario con mejor pronóstico en la recuperabilidad, el shock fue la principal causa de esta afección; la letalidad fue del 30 %.
